We're Mark + Ally, Husband And Wife Photographers...And We Tell Real Love Stories

Our Real Love Story began in 2009. It was the classic tale of "girl starts a new job, meets a boy at work, and immediately falls for his sense of humour" (he thought she was pretty cool, too). Except work was photographing the royal visit of HRH Queen Elizabeth II…so not an average Thursday. Inevitably, we would have met anyway (like, on Monday) but saying your relationship was set up by the Queen is way more exciting. We should really send her a thank-you note...

At Two & Quarter, we make photographs that are timeless, natural and authentic. Our goal is to tell your Real Love Story unobtrusively through a photojournalistic style, capturing candid moments and raw emotions as they unfold before us. When you look back at your photographs - be it after a few weeks or 50 years - we hope that our images will evoke exactly what you were feeling in that moment and transport you, because when all is said and done your photographs are what remain. We get that. And we take this responsibility very seriously - but we also love to have a good time with you. It’s our steadfast belief that if you’re having a good time it will reflect in your images - and this is when the best shots happen!

Purists at heart, our company name pays homage to our film photography roots - medium format film measures two and quarter square inches.  As self-proclaimed 'photodorks', our studio is home to our prized vintage camera collection guarded by our pit-bull rescue, Leica. When we're not working we love to travel with camera in hand, spend time on the water with the pup on board, and make art in our darkroom from that good ol' fashioned film.

If we sound like what you've been searching for please say hello! We'd love to chat with you by phone or at our St. George's studio.

The Dream Team

Mark

photographer + tech guru

If Mark ran the world, we’d all eat ice cream sundaes for breakfast. Luckily or not, his world domination so far is limited to a photography business…though there is ice cream at the studio. At 17, Mark's passion for photography was ignited while working at a Kodak lab and he went on to earn a BA in visual arts at Brock University. If he's not shooting or managing our St. George's shop, you can find Mark aboard 'Yakity Yak' trying his luck at deep-sea wahoo fishing.

Tyler

studio manager + print master

What can you do with a degree in Recreation and Leisure? As it turns out, quite a bit! Not only does Tyler hold down the fort when we're out, he manages and fulfills the many print orders like nobodies business and runs photobooth rentals like a champ.  Plus, its pretty awesome having your (not-so-little-anymore) brother as part of the team.

Ally

photographer + social media maven

Photography has been 'in the family' for Ally since the 1880s, when her great-great-grandfather set up Bermuda's first portrait studio in Hamilton. But before discovering the magic of a darkroom for herself and earning a BFA at the Savannah College of Art & Design, Ally leaped and twirled around New York City training for a career in ballet. When she  isn't shooting or sharing you can find Ally on a pilates mat or squeezing in some time at the barre.

Fae

photography assistant extraordinaire

Meet Fae, the newest addition to our dream team and all around creative genius. It took her all of five minutes to learn the ropes and get to work, work, work, work, work. Come fall, Fae is off to study creative writing in the UK, but we're stoked to have her on board for summer weddings and holiday events.
